I am Native Hibiscus. My family originated from South Western Australia

Botanic Name: Alyogyne huegelii ‘ALY19002’

Bushy – Bird attracting

I am a medium sized fast growing rounded native shrub usually producing a profusion spectacular deep purple silken-petaled flowers. My flowering is more prolific from early spring to late autumn and I will flower all year in the right conditions!

I am smaller growing and more compact than ‘West Coast Gem’ and many other native hibiscuses.

I have good form unpruned but respond well to regular pruning and make a great colourful native hedge.

I am dry tolerant once established but will perform at my best when provided with regular moisture. I will benefit from a an annual application of a quality native slow release fertiliser.

I do best in full sun but am tolerant of a range of soils provided they are well drained.

My flowers attract bees and beneficial insects.

My Flowers are edible, a great way to add colour when garnishing a salad.
