I am Kings Park Royale™ Kangaroo Paw. My family originated from South Western Australia
| Bred by the team at Kings Park Botanic Gardens, I am a striking kangaroo paw known for my tall stems and rich, velvety purple-red flowers.
My blooms rise above neat fans of green, strappy foliage, adding bold colour and structure to gardens. I’m perfect for garden beds or large pots, and I’m especially loved as a long-lasting cut flower. I thrive in full sun and well-drained soils. I handle dry conditions well once established and suit coastal gardens too. Good airflow around me helps prevent disease, so don’t crowd me. To keep me looking my best, remove spent flower stems right down to the base and trim away any dead foliage. Avoid overwatering and heavy soils – I prefer things on the drier side. A light feed with a low-phosphorus native fertiliser in spring will keep my blooms coming strong year after year. |
