I am Cast Iron Plant. My family originated from East and South East Asia
I am a beautiful Aspidistra with dark green leaves delicately speckled with pale cream. I am known as the Cast Iron Plant due to my hardy and almost indestructible nature. I grow as long stemmed deep green leaves from a creeping rhizome. I have small inconspicuous cream to dark purple flowers in spring/summer. Shade loving I am possibly the toughest indoor plant looking great in even the heaviest shade and thriving on neglect. In the garden I am useful in borders and understory plantings. I am very low maintenance. I dislike full sun. |
