I am Pingwu Bamboo. My family originated from Sichuan, China
| I am a clumping bamboo, tough, forming a dense clump of upright but slightly arching slender canes about 3-5m tall. My young canes are green with red highlights, becoming greener as they mature. Leaves are glossy green and blue-green beneath and 15cm long.
My non-invasive habit means I can be used to create an effective screen. My white sheaths, that protect new growth, hold to the stem creating an architectural checkerboard effect. I can be trimmed to size and to limit width if required making me perfect for a narrow hedge.. I am incredibly hardy will grow in almost any soil with half decent drainage. |
