I am Callistermon Bronwen. My family originated from South Eastern Australia

Botanic Name: Callistemon citrinus ‘Brownwen’

Shrub/Herb – Bird and bee attracting

I flower prolifically in spring to summer with bright pink bottlebrush nectar rich bottlebrush blooms which attract all manner of native birds and beneficial insects.

I am a lovely flowering shrub making me great as an informal hedge and screening or as a feature plant.

Hardy I am drought and frost resistant once established.

I am happy in most soils. I am not fussy about growing in full sun or shaded locations but higher light levels will see me flowering better.

Prune me back after flowering just behind the old flowers. This will encourage a dense growth habit. When mature I can be cut back hard if required from which I will bounce back quickly.

My form and response to pruning suites me to being a habitat creating native screening hedge.

I benefit from a quality slow release fertiliser applied in spring.

Full Sun to Part Shade (4+ hours of direct sun)
Height: 2m Width: 2m
(Can be kept trimmed to Height: 0.8m Width: 0.8m)
