I am an evergreen native with eye catching masses of dark wine red, bottle-brush flowers with contrasting bright yellow tipped stamens through spring, offset against naturally compact bluish-green foliage. I am an easy-to-grow, naturally dense dwarf rounded shrub requiring no pruning or other maintenance to look my best year on year. I tolerate most soils and climate conditions and am a good choice for heavy or sometimes waterlogged soils. My flowers attract nectar feeding birds and my dense form provides protective habitat.
