Botanic Name: Anigozanthos x hybrid ‘KPCARN’(PBR)
I am Celebration Carnivale Kangaroo Paw. My family originated from Western Australia
| My showy prolific blooms are unusual and vibrant. They are a distinctive purple with tinges of pink. My blooms contrast beautifully against my light blue green foliage.
I am the result of many years of a careful breeding regime called ‘recurrent selection’. This means that not only am I stunningly beautiful I have a long flowering season, and am resistant to extremes of temperature, poor soils and dry conditions. I have excellent disease resistance and am rarely afflicted by ink-spot and rust which commonly affect many Kangaroo Paw varieties. My blooms are a magnet for nectar feeding birds such as spinebills and honey eaters. I am happiest grown in a pot or other container. As a cut flower I am long lived in a vase when being enjoyed indoors. |
