I am Carpobrotus Aussie Rambler. My family originated from Australia
| I am a prostrate creeping succulent that has long trailing purple stems up to 2m.
Commonly called Pigface, I produce large deep pink flowers in spring and autumn. I am great for rockeries, mass plantings, a sand stabiliser or for any low maintenance gardens in inland and coastal conditions. Hardy I have grown well in Canberra with temperatures down to -8 degrees Celsius. I tolerate frost, drought, humidity and salt, however, avoid prolonged wet feet. I prefer a full sun to light shade position and can grow in most soil types, including heavy soils. For best performance, plant me in a well mulched garden. I require little maintenance, however you can give me a prune if required and apply slow release fertiliser in spring. |
