Chamelaucium ‘Local Hero’ – 180MM

I am Local Hero Wax Flower. My family originated from South Western Australia
| Known as a ‘Wax Flower’ I am a stunning native shrub producing a profusion of red buds during winter which open to delightful pink flowers in mid-spring.
Happy in most free draining soils I enjoy a sunny aspect but tolerate lightly shaded locations. I have a naturally dense form with fine needle-like bright green foliage. My blooms are long-lived when cut making me very popular as a cut flower particularly as a filler in floral arrangements. I am low maintenance but will benefit from a prune to shape after I finish flowering and an application of a native slow-release fertiliser as the weather warms in spring. I am drought tolerant once established and cope well with coastal conditions. Given my beautiful floral displays and low-fuss nature, I am the perfect addition to your garden. If you buy me, $1 will be donated to the SAS Resources Fund to assist current and former members of the Australian Defence Force and their families, who suffer hardship because of their service with the Special Air Service Regiment. |
