I am Grevillea Mello Yellow. My family originated from South East Australia
| I am a native grevillea ground cover featuring bright mello yellow flowers, most prolifically during winter, which pop against my dense deep green foliage. My flowers can also develop a pinkish tinge during the coldest months. Grown in full sun I can spot flower year round.
Tidy and well behaved I am a great choice for beside pools, pathways etc. where excessive plant debris is best avoided. I am also a great choice for rockeries, embankments, cascading over retaining walls and as a potted specimen. My compact form is sufficiently dense that it will outcompete most weeds. My flowers are particularly popular with small nectar feeding birds including spinebills and honeyeaters. I work particularly well in rockeries, banks or cascading over retaining walls. Plant me with my pink and cream Mount Tamboritha form to create an interesting floral effect. Once established I am hardy and a great choice for exposed locations being tolerant of light frost, dry conditions and salt laden air. |
