I am Leucadendron discolour. My family originated from South Africa
I am a showy Leucadendron producing prolific and stunning maroon cones surrounded with bright yellow bracts in winter and spring.
My upright form and height of about 2.5m suits me to being used as a colourful screening hedge. The long straight stems on my blooms make me particularly useful as a cut flower. I am particularly hardy and drought tolerant once established. I appreciate free draining soils and am not suited to boggy conditions. I will perform at my best in full sun and tolerate shade. I can be a bit scraggy unpruned so trim me back and to shape after flowering. This will also help me produce more blooms in the next flowering season. |
