Botanic Name: Anigozanthos x hybrid ‘KPMASQ’(PBR)
I am Celebration Masquerade Kangaroo Paw. My family originated from Western Australia
| I produce stunning and prolific iridescent teal and purple flowers which contrast against my light blue green foliage.
I am the result of many years of a careful breeding regime called ‘recurrent selection’. This means that not only am I stunningly beautiful I have a long flowering season, resistance to extremes of temperature, poor soils and dry conditions. I have excellent disease resistance and am rarely afflicted by ink-spot and rust which commonly affect many Kangaroo Paw varieties. My prolific blooms are a magnet for nectar feeding birds such as spine bills and honey eaters. Adaptable, I am just as happy grown in pots and containers as I am planted in the garden where I make a real statement – particularly when mass planted. As a cut flower I am long lived in a vase when being enjoyed indoors. |
