(Not currently available to be ordered)

I am Kolossus Olive. My family originated from northern Greece

Botanic Name: Olea europaea ‘NA002’(PBR)

I am a great tasting table olive with a similar flavour to the Kalamata, but much larger in size and more cold tolerant. All fruit harvested requires processing before eating. Ranging in size from 2-10m tall, I have dark glossy green leaves with silver under sides. I am a very hardy tree that thrives in Mediterranean conditions and looks great as a feature specimen, avenue or hedge. I can also be trained to grow as an espalier or a standard tree.

Full Sun (6+ hours of direct sun)
Height: 8m Width: 5m
(Can be kept trimmed to Height: 2m Width: 2m)
Water well when in flower and during fruit set in summer to maximise production
Ideal for Pickling
Tolerant of most soils I will perform at my best in well draining, deep fertile soils
I am popular and will make you happy because…
Ripening in autumn I have enormous elongated fruit with small pips and a consistent size and shape
My fleshy fruit is perfect for curing and similar to Kalamata but much larger
Hardy I am a good choice for coastal conditions being tolerant of salt, frost, dry and exposed locations

    Plant me:

  • in pots and other containers
  • in garden beds and general landscaping
  • as a screening hedge

Tips for success…

For reliable crops apply citrus fertiliser in autumn with a light winter prune to maintain height beneficial
