I am Jade Plant. My family originated from South Africa
| I am small-leaved succulent shrub to small tree with small, fleshy, jade green leaves that grow in opposite pairs on purplish to reddish stems.
I am very low maintenance, great in pots and well suited as an indoor plant. I have been traditionally grown near the entrance to homes because I am supposed to encourage wealth in the household leading to my common names “Money Tree” and “Fortune Plant”. My foliage is edible. I make a good bonsai specimen. While I can easily maintained at less than 1 meter size I can grow to 3 metres. My flowers are tiny, delicate and bright pink growing on short purplish stems from spring into summer. Note: I rarely flower when grown indoors |
