Everyday care for Lavandula x hybrida Javelin®

Here’s how to look after me

Tips for success

Keep me thriving

Light suitability: Full Sun (6+ hours of direct sun). Consider local heat, wind and seasonal shade, and follow any more specific advice on the plant label.

I have medium maintenance needs and benefit from regular attention. Remove damaged material with clean tools, maintain an open and healthy shape, and refresh the mulch when needed without piling it against the stem.

Pruning: I can be cut back at any time of year and a reasonable trim in autumn after my blooms have faded is beneficial and promotes more blooms.

Flowering: You can expect me to flower in January, February, March, April, October, November and December. Local climate, position and seasonal conditions can make flowering begin earlier or finish later. Observe the plant rather than pruning by the calendar alone, particularly while buds or flowers are forming.

Watering: Even after I am established, check the soil at root depth periodically. Water slowly and deeply during extended dry periods and unusually hot or windy weather rather than watering frequently and shallowly. Monitor moisture more closely while the roots are still spreading into the surrounding soil.
