Council plant lists

Many councils publish lists of local native plants to grow, plants for nature strips, and weeds to avoid. Enter your postcode to see your council's lists and the Southern Plants plants that are on them.

About these lists

We copy each list from the council's own website and link to the original. The date we last checked is kept with every list. Councils change their lists from time to time, so check the source before planting on council land, a nature strip, or for a planning permit.

Local native lists usually mean plants grown from local seed (local provenance). Cultivars and selected forms of the same species may not count.
