Bush Flare Kangaroo Paw 140MM

Anigozanthos x hybrid 'Ramboflare'

I am Bush Flare Kangaroo Paw. My family originated from South Western Australia.

Habit Strappy - Bird attracting
Plant family Haemodoraceae
I am a low growing Kangaroo Paw with masses of bright orange yellow flowers, a unique Australian native. My flowers are borne on upright branching stems above slender, strap-like foliage. Unique to Australia I have evolved to be pollinated by small birds for which I am a magnet. My blooms are similar in shape to a kangaroo's paw and give the visiting birds a face full of pollen while they retrieve their nectar reward from deep inside my blooms when performing their pollination duties. I enjoy free draining and sandy soils but perform well in most soils. While tolerant of dry conditions I will perform at my best with consistent moisture. I am just as happy as a container plant as I am planted out in the garden. As a cut flower I am long lived in a vase when being enjoyed indoors.
I am popular and will make you happy because...
I am a unique Australian native, just as happy in large pots and containers as I am planted out in the garden
I produce masses of burnt orange flowers spring, summer and autumn. I am a great cut flower
My long lived blooms attract honey eaters and other small nectar feeding birds
