Anigozanthos Gold Velvet 180MM

Anigozanthos hybrid 'Gold Velvet'

I am Anigozanthos Gold Velvet. My family originated from South Western Australia.

Habit Strappy - Bird attracting
Plant family Haemodoraceae
I am a medium sized Kangaroo Paw with bright golden flowers frosted with red at the base and lightly over the rest of the bloom. I was bred for toughness and general landscape conditions. My drought and frost tolerance is very high relative to many other Kangaroo Paws. I am highly resistant to black spot which also affects many other Kangaroo Paws. I have very clean foliage and need less trimming or removal of older leaves to keep me looking at my best. ‘Gold Velvet’ is truly one of the best landscape Kangaroo Paws available. As a cut flower I am long lived in a vase when being enjoyed indoors.
I am popular and will make you happy because...
I am a unique Australian native, just as happy in large pots and containers as I am planted out in the garden
I produce showy large gold flowers from red stems in spring into summer. I am a great cut flower
My long lived blooms attract honey eaters and other small nectar feeding birds
