Heath Banksia 200MM

Banksia ericifolia

I am Heath Banksia. My family originated from Eastern Australia.

Habit Shrub - Large flowers
Plant family Proteaceae
I am an evergreen native shrub with fine linear bright green leaves and produce spectacular cylindrical orange to red flower cones up to 20cm tall and 8cm wide from spring to autumn. My dense habit provides excellent habitat for birds and makes me a good screening option. I enjoy well drained soils. I can be pruned to shape if required or cut back hard to regenerate. My flowers are rich in nectar attracting birds and beneficial insects alike.
I am popular and will make you happy because...
My large conical blooms attract nectar feeding birds to the garden
My flowers appear from September to April and are long lived in floral arrangements
My fine foliage and dense habit suits me to screening and hedging
