Boronia Carousel 140MM

Boronia heterophylla x molloyae 'Carousel'

I am Boronia Carousel. My family originated from Western Australia.

Habit Shrub - I smell great!

Plant family Rutaceae

A dark pink flowering Boronia hybrid, I make an outstanding cut flower with delightful perfume. My flowers turn red with age and are also a magnet for bees and beneficial insects. I am a dense upright shrub suited to a cool partially shaded location. I am a great choice for areas where people brush past to enjoy my scent year round, e.g. beside paths and courtyards. I like a cool root run, a thick layer of mulch being beneficial to stop my soil getting hot. I perform best in well-drained soils with a neutral to slightly acidic pH that are kept moist. Give me a prune after flowering to encourage plenty of blooms in the next season and to keep me looking good.

I am popular and will make you happy because...

I produce masses of dark pink bell-shaped blooms throughout spring that turn red with age

My fine green foliage is delicately scented to be enjoyed year round

I make an excellent cut flower allowing my colour and fragance to be enjoyed indoors
