Callistemon Western Glory 200MM

Callistemon citrinus 'Western Glory'

I am Callistemon Western Glory. My family originated from South Eastern Australia.

Habit Shrub - Bird and bee attracting
Plant family Myrtaceae
I am an excellent flowering large native shrub and a great choice for informal hedging and screening. My mauve-red bottlebrush flowers are abundant except during winter. My flowers attract nectar feeding birds and insects. With good natural form I can be left unpruned but can be maintained at a smaller size. A light prune after flowering at the start of winter will encourage flushes of growth. I thrive in most soils and conditions and am a good choice for boggy conditions where many plants may struggle.
I am popular and will make you happy because...
My prolific blooms attract nectar feeding birds to the garden
My mauve-red blooms appear in spring into summer but I can spot flower at other times of year
I am suitable for native or coastal gardens, providing food and shelter to native birds and insects
