Dawn Pearl Waxflower 180MM

Chamelaucium hybrid 'Dawn Pearl'

I am Dawn Pearl Waxflower. My family originated from South Western Australia.

Habit Shrub - Prolific white blooms
Plant family Myrtaceae
Known as a ‘Wax Flower’ I am a stunning flowering native shrub with my blooms starting as shiny white buds emerging from pale brown casings. I am an early flowering variety, blooming prolifically from early winter with large dainty white flowers with pale green centres. Happy in most free draining soils I enjoy a sunny aspect but tolerate lightly shaded locations. I have a naturally dense form with fine needle like bright green foliage. My blooms are long lived when cut making me very popular as a cut flower particularly as a filler in floral arrangements. I am low maintenance but will benefit from a prune to shape after I finish flowering and an application of a native slow-release fertiliser as the weather warms in spring. I am drought tolerant once established and cope well with coastal conditions.
I am popular and will make you happy because...
My profusion of white buds in winter open to pure white waxy blooms with green centres in early spring
My long lived flowers perform well when cut to be enjoyed indoors
Naturally dense I make a great native screening hedge
