Kalbarri Wax Flower 180MM

Chamelaucium uncinatum 'Kalbarri'

I am Kalbarri Wax Flower. My family originated from South Western Australia.

Habit Shrub - Prolific purple blooms
Plant family Myrtaceae
Known as a ‘Wax Flower’ I am a stunning native shrub producing a profusion of buds which open to delightful masses of purple flowers during mid-spring. My flowers attract bees, butterflies, and other beneficial pollinators. Happy in most free draining soils I enjoy a sunny aspect but tolerate lightly shaded locations. I grow into an attractive rounded shrub with fine needle-like bright green foliage. My blooms are long-lived when cut making me very popular as a cut flower particularly as a filler in floral arrangements. I am low maintenance but will benefit from a prune to shape after I finish flowering and an application of a native slow-release fertiliser as the weather warms in spring. I am drought tolerant once established and cope well with coastal conditions. Given my beautiful floral displays and low-fuss nature, I am the perfect choice for your garden.
I am popular and will make you happy because...
I produce a profusion of waxy purple blooms over an extended period in spring
My long lived flowers perform well when cut to be enjoyed indoors
My compact form is ideal for a pot or other container & I am just as happy planted out in the garden
