Ruby's Delight Wax Flower 180MM

Chamelaucium megapetalum hybrid 'Ruby's Delight'

I am Ruby's Delight Wax Flower. My family originated from South Western Australia.

Habit Shrub - Prolific dark pink blooms

Plant family Myrtaceae

I am a stunning native shrub producing a profusion of glossy red buds during winter which open to delightful dark pink flowers during spring. My blooms are long lived and well presented on long stems making me very popular with florists as a cut flower. Happy in most free draining soils I enjoy a sunny aspect but tolerate lightly shaded locations. I have a naturally dense form with fine needle-like bright green foliage. I am low maintenance but will benefit from a prune to shape after I finish flowering and an application of a native slow release fertiliser as the weather warms in spring. I am drought tolerant once established and cope well with coastal conditions.

I am popular and will make you happy because...

I produce masses of large glossy red buds in winter followed by dark pink flowers from early spring

My long lived flowers perform well when cut to be enjoyed indoors

I am suitable for use as a screening plant
