Yellow Buttons 140MM

Chrysocephalum apiculatum

I am Yellow Buttons. My family originated from Australia.

Habit Groundcover - Long flowering
Plant family Asteraceae
I am a small evergreen, spreading Australian native that produces clusters of golden yellow, button-like flowers for most of the year. My stunning blooms contrast against my soft silver-green foliage. My blooms can be enjoyed in dried flower arrangements. I am perfect for planting in native gardens, small spaces, rockeries, alongside pathways, and spilling over containers. I am known to be a food source for butterflies. I perform best in an open, sunny position in moist well drained soil, but will tolerate periods of dryness. To encourage new growth, give me a trim after I have finished flowering.
I am popular and will make you happy because...
Tough I am suitable for coastal gardens, as well as planting beside pools
My grey-silver foliage is a delight with my plentiful golden blooms prominent for most of the year
Hardy and adaptable I am just as happy garden planted as in a container
