Honeyeater's Lunch 180MM

Cuphea x hybrid 'Honeyeaters's Lunch'

I am Honeyeater's Lunch. My family originated from Mexico, Guatemala and Honduras.

Habit Shrub - Bird Attracting
Plant family Lythraceae
I feature bright cherry red two toned tubular flowers set against lush dark green foliage. My delicate small blooms are abundant and most prolific in summer and tapering through autumn. My mounding, semi-trailing growth habit and colourful blooms make me a great choice baskets and containers or planting out in the garden. While my blooms appear delicate I am hardy and tolerate heat and dry conditions where I still end up looking lush. My blooms attract honeyeaters and other nectar feeding birds.
I am popular and will make you happy because...
I am ideal for rockeries, containers including hanging baskets, low hedges and perennial borders
My two tone cherry red & yellow blooms are prolific and appear in all but the coldest months
My nectar rich delicate tubular blooms are a magnet for honeyeaters and spinebills
