Tasred® Dianella 140MM

Dianella tasmanica Tasred®

I am Tasred® Dianella. My family originated from South Eastern Australia.

Habit Strappy - Accent Plant - Architectural foliage
Plant family Asphodelaceae
I am tough, adaptable and reliable native flax lily with thick strappy foliage that is often read at the base particularly in cold climates. I produce sprays of violet flowers from spring into summer which are followed by attractive purple berries from summer to autumn. My flower attract beneficial insects and my berries attract birds. My lush tidy appearance and resistance to frosts and dry conditions makes me popular choice for public spaces. I make an impressive statement mass planted. (Allow 4-6 plants per sq. metre.) I am excellent at erosion control particularly on sloping land. I am the best performing and highest selling Dianella tasmanica in Australia.
Caution: Harmful if eaten
I am popular and will make you happy because...
My clean strappy foliage is tinged red at the base making favourite for my architectural form
I am great for mass planting or as a border
Adaptable I am just as happy growing in a pot or other container as I am planted out in the garden
