Red Dragon Bamboo 180MM

Featuring bright red stems I am the ‘Red Panda’ or ‘Jiuzhaigou’ bamboo as I was discovered in at Jiuzhaigou Park in northern Sichuan, China. I am a non-invasive clump-forming bamboo that grows to a height of around 3 metres but can get to 4 metres when fully mature. I am happy planted in semi-shade to full sun, where I develop a mixture of green, purple and red canes or culms are topped with dainty small dark green leaves. I am a good choice for container planting where my upright and gently curved habit will enhance a paved space. The bright red colour on my hollow stems, called culms, is more vibrant when I am grown in sunny conditions. I can be trimmed if required which is useful if narrow screening is required. I am low maintenance clumping bamboo easy to grow and very hardy.
