Hydrangea Black Lace 200MM

Hydrangea macrophylla 'Black Lace'

I am Hydrangea Black Lace. My family originated from Japan.

Habit Shrub - Long flowering
Plant family Hydrangeaceae
I am a vigorous lace cap Hydrangea with stunning, long black stems that set off my flowers beautifully. My flower display begins in late spring, with lacy heads of mid blue or mid pink blooms (my colour can shift with your soil pH) set against fresh green foliage through summer and autumn. I bring colour to shady spots, so use me in a small garden, on a patio or courtyard, or in a container or tub where you like to entertain. My black stems make a striking cut flower, and they give a contrasting effect in a winter garden. I am easy to grow and frost hardy. Keep my roots moist, protect me from hot westerly winds, and plant me in most well-draining soils. Prune me back to a third of my size during winter and feed me in early spring with a slow-release fertiliser, more often if I am in a container. I am harmful if eaten and can irritate skin and eyes, so take care when handling me.
Caution: Harmful if eaten; Skin/eye irritant
I am popular and will make you happy because...
