Leucadendron 'Purple Haze' 180MM

Leucadendron galpinii 'Purple Haze'

I am Leucadendron 'Purple Haze'. My family originated from South Africa.

Habit Shrub - Silvery Purple Foliage

Plant family Proteaceae

I am a showy Leucadendron that puts on an impressive display of silvery purple foliage in winter which are followed by silver cones during summer and typically looking at their best at Christmas. My foliage starts a deep green and develops distinct purple tinge introducing an interesting colour to the landscape. I am particularly hardy and drought tolerant once established. I appreciate neutral to acidic soils and am not suited to limey or alkaline soils I will perform at my best in full sun and tolerate shade.

I am popular and will make you happy because...

A great way to create contrast my destinctive fine silvery purple foliage is most striking during winter

I produce interesting silver cones from spring into summer which are long lived as a cut flower

My dense form and response to pruning make me a good hedging option
