Leucadendron 'Strawberries & Cream' 180MM

Leucadendron salignum 'Strawberries & Cream'

I am Leucadendron 'Strawberries & Cream'. My family originated from South Africa.

Habit Shrub - Bright Year Round Colour

Plant family Proteaceae

I am a showy Leucadendron with showy strawberry red foliage and cream coloured bracts around my flowers which are prolific appearing in winter and spring. I am particularly hardy and drought tolerant once established. I appreciate free draining neutral to acidic soils and am not suited to limey or alkaline soils or boggy conditions. I will perform at my best in full sun and tolerate shade. A light prune and or dead heading after flowering will improve my shape and more blooms in the next flowering season.

I am popular and will make you happy because...

My prolific blooms are in the form of a small creamy cone surrounded by bright red bracts

My bright colour and flowing form bring contrast and interest to the garden

With my dense habit I am well suited to be a colourful screening hedge
