Resilience Lilly Pilly 200MM

Syzygium australe 'Resilience'

I am Resilience Lilly Pilly. My family originated from NSW and QLD.

Habit Shrub - I am psyllid resistant
Plant family Myrtaceae
I am a large native shrub that provides a spectacular show of colour all year round, with my new growth flushing in a vibrant red. My foliage is beautifully complemented during spring by dainty white flowers followed by edible red berries that also attract birds to the garden. One of my most valued qualities is my proven resistance to psyllids - tiny insect pests that cause pimpling and distortion on new growth that affects so many common Lilly Pilly varieties. This makes me a much cleaner, lower-maintenance choice. I am an ideal screening or hedging plant. Regular pruning will maintain my shape and encourage compact, dense growth. I also make an attractive specimen plant, and perform well in pots and containers. I am frost tolerant and have very low water needs once established, making me one of the most practical options available.
I am popular and will make you happy because...
I am resistant to psyllids as well as many other pests & diseases that affect lilly pillies
I respond well to pruning making me an ideal native hedge or screen
My flowers are followed by edible red berries that draw birds to the garden
