Creeping Thyme Pink 140MM

Thymus serpyllum 'Pink'

I am Creeping Thyme Pink. My family originated from Europe and North Africa.

Habit Groundcover - I am edible
Plant family Lamiaceae
I am a mat-forming, aromatic ground cover with bright green leaves that puts on a spectacular display in spring and summer when I am covered in a mass of pink flowers. Like all Creeping Thymes, my aromatic leaves are edible and can be used fresh or dried to flavour a range of dishes including soups, casseroles and stews. I am a wonderful dual-purpose plant - ornamental, fragrant, edible and a magnet for bees and pollinators when I am in flower. I am ideal as a ground cover for rockeries and herb gardens, and I have the added benefit of withstanding moderate foot traffic, making me suitable for use as a fragrant lawn substitute in low-traffic areas. Feed me regularly with a complete fertiliser and replant every few years if used as a lawn to keep me looking at my best.
I am popular and will make you happy because...
My aromatic leaves are edible fresh or dried - perfect for soups, stews and cooking
I make a beautiful ground cover for sunny banks, borders, rockeries and herb gardens
My masses of pink spring attract bees and pollinators to the garden
