I am a special selection of Pittosporum, featuring jade green foliage with beautifully ruffled edges which are highlighted against dark reddish-black stems. Fast growing I make ideal screening along boundaries and driveways. Hardy I tolerate a range of conditions including dry spells and a significant amount of shade. I can be pruned to size and shape as required or left unclipped where I will develop a naturally rounded form.
Weed note: Some Victorian councils list Pittosporum tenuifolium as a weed. This variety isn't named on their lists. Other councils recommend it, so check your own council's list. See Council planting lists below for growing tips.

If you'd like to grow it

  • Birds eat the fruit or berries and can carry the seed a long way. Prune off the flowers, or pick the fruit before it ripens.
  • Put seed heads, fruit and cuttings in the green waste bin, not the home compost.
  • Never dump garden waste in bushland, parks or near creeks.
  • It is lower risk in town gardens, courtyards and pots well away from bushland and waterways. Avoid planting it on properties that border bushland, creeks or farmland.

Tips for success

Feed me annually with a long term slow release fertiliser, prune me as required

Suggested spacing: 0.7m apart.

Plant at 1 metre centres to create hedge.

Full Sun to Part Shade (4+ hours of direct sun)
