Plantain Lily 180MM

Low growing I am popular for my lush and diversely patterned foliage. My blooms, many of which are fragrant, are in shades of lavender that appear on upright stems during the warmer months. Low maintenance I do best in well drained fertile soils and am a good choice for shady locations. I am long lived and winter hardy. I produce dense coverage and can carpet small areas outcompeting many weeds. Long lived and winter deciduous I can die back completely with a flush of fresh new growth in the spring. Plant many of my varieties together to create a patchwork effect. All my species are edible and some are grown as vegetables in parts of Asia.
