Coming from a diverse and interesting family of plants, I thrive in shade and grow vigorously with a naturally dense habit I making me very useful in well shaded gardens.

I typically flower in spring but my white or cream flowers tend to be tiny and fairly insignificant.

I work well in borders and semi-formal settings where my bold colours can be used to great effect.

I have a naturally rounded form but can be shaped as desired to form low hedges.
